The cat said and ran out of the shed, over the fence and into next doors garden. I sneaked back upstairs and into my bedroom and tried to get a good nights sleep. When I woke up the next morning I joined dad at the breakfast bar and I over heard him mention the council. "

"Aren't you going to go and visit your frog, you usually do in the mornings?" Dad mentioned.I don't feel like it!" I answered and walked of into the lounge. Not wanting to tell him about all that had happened!'t bothered looking through the cat flap for two reasons. Number one was that it upset me to see Gracie as a cat and number two was because I'd been to busy thinking about my birthday presents. I went round Daisy's house yesterday and we went on her Play station, I wish I had a play station, I could have asked for one for my birthday! We also played in her garden, it was massive and she had a trampoline it's a massive 16 ft one. We had so much fun playing on it, making each other bounce in the air and rolling around laughing. She also had a dog called Millie and we were playing with her, but then it all went a bit wrong. Because she said that Millie was a real pet, unlike my frog so I got annoyed with her and then we had an argument and I went home!'s house. But I don't want to get upset about it because it's my birthday soon, Mum and Dad said I need to write out a birthday list. Mmmmm, what do I want?

Chapter 8 - Family time Well I

'd been thinking about what I would like for my birthday, I told Mum maybe a game or a toy, but I knew that really the only thing I wanted was to have Gracie back! But at the same time I could imagine Mum and Dad's answer. No! But I'm still really excited about my birthday, my Nan rang up that day to ask me if I want to go out on a special birthday treat with her. Obviously I couldn't say no so she came round to pick me up at 1 o'clock, I didn't know where we were going though. It was a surprise! I was all ready to go and had my coat and my best clothes and my scarf, hat and gloves. Nan was about 10 minutes late, we both got in the car and she started driving, when I asked her where she was taking me she said. "

You'll have to wait and see my dear!" Finally we arrived at the surprise location, it was Clacton! As we walked past a chip stall, Nan bought me some chips and a coke. Later on during the day we passed it again so I got and ice cream, we went on the beach and made sand castles. Then we walked back to the car, at first I didn

Then we continued to walk along the promenade until we came to a very nice looking restaurant. Nan told me to follow her and we walked inside, she then asked me what I would like to eat. Well I decided to order a bacon burger with cheese, salad and chips on the side and a glass of diet coke. We waited about 20 minutes and mean while I just looked at the desert menu and waited patiently. The drinks came after around 5 minutes and so I took a sip from that every few seconds. Finally the food arrived and it tasted really nice and it was a very enjoyable meal, my Nan had spaghetti bolognaise and that looked really nice to! Then it was time to order desert, I had a look at the menu but they all looked a little sickly. So I ordered fresh fruit with pineapple ice-cream, it was really nice and there was a little chocolate wafer on the side!

Then
Nan left a tip and we walked backup the promenade, we then went into the amusement area and Nan bought me a wristband. I went on all of the bigger rides, the drop and smile, helter-skelter, trampolines, ghost train, tea cups and the roller coaster. It was all great fun and I really enjoyed spending time with my Nan! Then we got back in the car and she drove me back home. When we got home Mum was busy putting up Birthday decorations with

't know what for but when we got there I realised that Nan was getting out fishing nets! We walked all the way back up the promenade until we got to the area where all the rock pools were. We sat there for hours just looking at all the different sea creatures we had spotted and all the crabs we had caught in our nets. We would look at every little detail on the crabs and then put then straight back before they nipped our fingers. I found a fish that was green, yellow and brown, when my Nan looked at it she told me I should put it back straight away as it was a poisonous jelly fish. And then when I looked closer I realised it was indeed a jelly fish!"Mary" on them. I'm used to it though because we can never find birthday decorations saying "Mary-Anne" but only ever Mary or Anne! I watched TV for about an hour and then I headed for bed because I was getting tired but mainly because I wanted tomorrow to come sooner. As I passed through the long I noticed that where the cat flap normally is Mum and Dad had put a big curtain covering that area but I'd been to tired to ask them why it was there! I'm getting really excited now though and I really cant wait, well I'll see you tomorrow and hopefully have some presents!

What was that Dad?" I asked.Oh, the council knocked on our door at around 7:30 this morning and woke me and your mother up. They asked use if we had heard any loud noises yesterday as next doors tree has been cut down and there is no explanation!" Dad explained.Wow, that's weird!" I agreed, trying not to laugh. You wouldn't happen to know anything about it would you?" Dad asked. No, how could I chop down a tree by myself?" I proved.Yeh, your right sorry!" Dad apologised. It's ok." I replied.

action'clock and Mum and Dad were it bed, I had my coat, wellington boots, scarf, hat and gloves on. A shovel in one hand and a flashlight in the other, I would have to silently get Dad's ladder out of the garage so that I could get over the fence! When the cost was clear I crept past Mum and Dads room and down the stairs and out of the back door. Luckily dad had already used the ladder that day so it was already out, leaning against the shed. I silently moved it against the fence and put my flashlight in one pocket and my shovel in the other, it was then that I heard a noise. I am afraid of the dark anyway and so this just terrified me even more, it was then that I saw Mum. I froze! She looked around for a bit but luckily didn't notice me and went back upstairs to bed. I managed to climb up the ladder and got over the other side, I then began to dig where I saw Gracie bury the golden leaf key, I dug really deep but couldn't see it. Then I noticed something shining at the other end of the lawn, I crept over to it and realised it was the key. I picked it up and ran to the oak tree.I took out my flash light, turned it on and shined it at the tree. There were so many little slots in the tree and I had to try pushing the golden leaf key into each one, I found one little slot that looked just like the key and when I placed the key into it I noticed that the key turned a dark black and it dropped out of it's slot, the tree then disappeared. But had it worked, well I managed to climb back over and down the fence, I then went into the shed and there in Gracie's place was the black cat. I know you had to give up your friend for me, but thank you, I am very grateful!" The cat purred. It's ok!" I answered, really lying.Well thank you for all your help and Bye!"
